PK-6 Parent Applications and Teacher Recommendation Accepted from May 3-18

The 2021 PK-6 Learning Takes You Places summer learning program is the summer fun your child wants and the summer learning your child needs! All students will sharpen their reading, writing and math skills while participating in fun and interesting academic classes and take part in exciting enrichment activities. Each day is designed to help make sure your child does not forget what they learned this year and better prepares them for success next year and beyond.

There is no cost to attend! All students receive breakfast, lunch, and transportation to and from their home campus daily. Students and families have three session dates to choose for their summer learning experience. All sessions off in-person and remote learning.

  • Three week Session 1: Monday, June 7 until June 25
  • Three week Session 2: Tuesday, July 6-July 23
  • Six week Session 3: Monday, June 7 until June 25 and Tuesday, July 6-July 23

Invitations to attend 2021 Learning Takes You Places will be sent on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. to the parent email address listed on the student application. Space is limited.

Pre-Kindergarten
Summer Learning

Play in pre-K fosters learningDuring summer learning, PK 4 students engage in hands-on activities to prepare them for Kindergarten as well as sharpen skills learned this past school year. Families will also receive online access to continue their student learning at home through a variety of at-home learning games, books and other fun activities.

There is no cost to attend! All students receive breakfast, lunch, and transportation to and from their home campus daily. Students and families have three session dates to choose for their summer learning experience. All sessions off in-person and remote learning.

  • Three week Session 1: Monday, June 7 until June 25
  • Three week Session 2: Tuesday, July 6-July 23
  • Six week Session 3: Monday, June 7 until June 25 and Tuesday, July 6-July 23

Prekindergarten 4 summer learning will be held at Kooken, Amos, McNutt, Moore, Patrick and Swift Elementary Schools. PK 4 students may attend any of the 6 district locations listed. Find the closest location to your home address.

Bilingual, ESL, Kindergarten, and First Grade (BEK1) Summer Learning

BE K-1 Summer Program. Department of World Languages.BEK 1 is facilitated through the World Languages Department as the instructional focus is language development aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for incoming kindergarten and first-grade students. TEKS are the foundation for instruction and language development for participating students, which include oral social language, oral school language, phonological development and literacy skills. The program also addresses the affective, linguistic and cognitive needs of the English Learner (EL) and are incorporated throughout the specialized curriculum.

Bilingual or ESL students who completed Prekindergarten 4 or Kindergarten in the 2020-2021 school year may attend. BEK1 is offered at all AISD summer learning locations for qualifying students. Qualifying students will receive an email invitation with instructions on how to apply. You do not need to fill out the parent application above.
