Session Description: A brief overview of institutional memory regarding instructional materials in Arlington ISD. A few stories may be told, tears may be shed, hopefully, some laughs will be heard.

9:00 - 9:30 AM

Continuous Improvement Roundtables

Session Description: The Continuous Improvement Roundtables session will occur early in the day and afford all attendees to gather and evaluate the current state of implementation related to digital instructional materials in Arlington ISD.

Roundtable options will include: Digital Textbooks, Troubleshooting & Support, Assessing the Impact, and Evaluation & Implementation. Collected data will help inform the work of various departments tasked with supporting the effective use of digital instructional materials in AISD.

RapidID / Clever Overview & Updates

Session Description: This session will provide an overview of how both systems work and how an app gets set up in those systems. We will seek feedback from users on both Rapid ID and Clever (what they like/dislike, what works/doesn't work for them, how could it better meet their needs, etc) along with answering any questions presented about the systems.

Web Application Approval ProcessSteve Simpson

Session Description: Learn about how the district is working to ensure students and staff are using instructional systems and applications that protect user privacy, comply with the law, and ensure that all students are equal access to valuable instructional content.

About the Presenter: Steve currently serves as the Interim Director of the Technology Integration & Innovation Department. He's also the district's Blended Learning Coordinator. Previously, he's served AISD in other roles, including Digital Learning Specialist, Social Studies Instructional Specialist, and junior high social studies teacher.

Digital Accessibility Initiativestone-greg

  • Greg Stone, Web Services Specialist, Web Services Department

Session Description: To provide a general overview of digital accessibility and to raise awareness of the Digital Accessibility Initiative.

About the Presenter: Greg is the Website Specialist for Arlington ISD. Greg attended the University of Texas at Arlington and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Music Media with emphasis in Audio/Visual Technology in 2002. Greg joined Arlington ISD in 2008 as a Telecommunications technician and later that year, became the Facilities Specialist at the Mac Bernd Professional Development Center. In January of 2017, he was promoted to his current position as Website Specialist in the Web Services Department. His responsibilities are to provide training and support for the district's Digital Accessibility Initiative, while also providing support for campus webmasters, and developing custom web services and systems.
