2024-2025 Attendance Expectations

Greetings families! Below is our attendance policy and procedures for the 24-25 school year. The reason behind this policy is to ensure our learners are maximizing their learning, both socially and academically as many days at school as possible. We look forward to creating an environment that is safe, inclusive, and healthy for your learner to be present every day!

• Learning will begin at 8:10 AM. That means that the start time for your learner is 8:10 AM. Doors open at 7:50 and so you have 20 minutes to get your learner to school. We will begin assigning tardies at 8:20 AM.
• Parents will maximize student learning by ensuring students attend the full day of school.
• If your learner has 3 unexcused absences, you will receive a written warning letter with corrections that need to happen promptly. Our doors open at 7:50 and instruction begins at 8:10. After 8:20 your learner is counted tardy and is missing important parts of their day, both socially and academically.
• If your learner has 5 tardies, you will receive a written warning letter with corrections that need to happen promptly. Our doors open at 7:50 and instruction begins at 8:10. After 8:20 your learner is counted tardy and is missing important parts of their day, both socially and academically.
• If your learner is tardy or absent 6 times within a semester, you will be asked to come in for a meeting with Ms. Minyard or Ms. Bentley to talk about a plan of action moving forward for your learner so he/she can be at school daily.
• If you are a transfer family, your child’s attendance and tardies can prevent your family from renewing their transfer the following year. We will do everything in our power before that point to meet with you and help get your attendance and tardies corrected.

Attendance Incentives

• Once a week we will do a pop up attendance raffle on the morning announcements. When learners have their name called they will come to office for a prize! They must be in class, ready to learn to be eligible for the prize.
• Each class will fill in a piece of the Ranger mascot when 90% of students are present for the day. After all ten are colored in, the class will earn a dress up day.
• At the end of each six weeks we will hand out attendance brag tags to students who were present daily.

We do understand there are chances your learner will be sick this next school year and with that of course we will understand and extend grace. These policies and changes are going into effect for the other 90% of your child’s school year, outside their illnesses.
