Morning Procedures

Students eating breakfast

Students arriving for breakfast before the door is open at 7:55 a.m. will form two single file lines outside the northwest front entrance (near the kindergarten pod). The first line will be for students in grades K-3, and the second line will be for students in grades 4-6. The door will be opened at 7:55 a.m. The students are to enter quietly and walk.

The K-3 students will place their belongings on the seats of the first cafeteria table near the office and stage. They will then proceed through the cafeteria line in the same orderly single file fashion.

The 4-6 students will place their belongings on the seats of the third cafeteria table near the office and stage. Only strings instruments and special large projects will be place on top of the table. The 4-6 students will then proceed through the cafeteria line in the same orderly single file fashion.

As the students go through the breakfast line, they should use quiet, respectful voices and continue to move through the line patiently. No horseplay is allowed. The students will be seated in the order that they exit the breakfast line, starting with the first table near the stage and kitchen. The students will not be allowed to sit anywhere they want; they will fill up the side of the table closest to the stage and then start on the other side of the table. When the first table is full, the students will be seated at the second table in the same orderly fashion, etc. If parents have come to eat/sit with their student, the parent and the student will be seated at the Parents Breakfast Table, which will be the table and near the back wall of the cafeteria (a sign will be displayed).

The students’ morning rules in the cafeteria are:

  • Enter the building quietly and walk.
  • Place your belongings on the appropriate table seat.
  • Remain quiet and patient in the line; no horseplay.
  • Raise your hand if you need help.
  • Stay in your seat.
