Greetings Nichols Community,
It is with honor and excitement that I greet you as the new principal of Nichols Junior High! The long history of providing academic excellence for students and excellent customer service to the community at large has distinguished this campus as a premier learning organization in Arlington ISD. I look forward to building positive relationships with every stakeholder while working collaboratively together to lead Nichols to greater dimensions of success.
Prior to arriving at Nichols, I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Jarvis Christian College in 2006. Then I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University Texas at Austin in 2013. Currently, I am completing doctoral studies in Educational Leadership at Stephen F. Austin State University.
This is my eleventh year in public school education. In the past, I have served as a high school science teacher and department chair. From there I was promoted to middle school assistant principal in Birdville ISD. Most recently, I served in the capacity of assistant principal at Sam Houston High School in Arlington ISD.
As my journey in education continues, I am inspired and deeply committed to serving our students with excellence. Our campus is very fortunate to have a strong teaching staff and support personnel. Together, we will continue to build systems that support learning at high levels for all students with a focus on college and career readiness. I believe when this happens, students are most successful and we will make great strides in the preservation of a healthy democracy.
I look forward to what will continue to be a great year of learning at Nichols Junior High!
In the interest of children,
Marcus D. Brannon, M.Ed.
