Patriot Families,

It has been a great week at Shackelford! We are in full swing for for 2nd semester. Our students worked hard this week to be successful on CA3.

Just a reminder that we do not have school on Monday in remembrance of Martin Luther King. Monday is a student and teacher holiday.

Before the winter break we met with some of the Student Council and NJHS students to discuss how things were going at school this year. One item that came up was the congestion in the hallways. We brainstormed with the Stuco kids and NJHS students and came up with idea for One Way Hallways. The students volunteered to put the signs up in the proper places so we could try it. We implemented it this week, and the hallways seemed much less congested and flowed in a smooth matter. We gave grace this week on tardies, realizing that students will have to create a new routine of the route they take to get to class. We have talked to students about thinking through and planning out which way is the most effective path. We are going to try it this semester and then we will gather feedback again and evaluate the effectiveness. I am very proud of our students.
