Building Leaders & Outstanding Citizens

Air Force JROTC is a continuing success story. From a modest beginning of 20 units in 1966, AFJROTC has grown to 700 + units throughout the world. Arlington High School started the Texas 31st AFJROTC unit in 1968 with 60 students which has grown to over 244 as of 2017. AISD AFJROTC is centrally located at Ferguson Education Center. The mission of AFJROTC is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.

Our Wing Has a Report Card Worth Bragging About

We are a really active wing in our community. We put forth a lot of effort to help others, especially those in need. With over 200+ cadets we can bring a lot of man power with great leadership and support from our staff.

Hours of Community Service

First, let me assure you that JROTC has nothing to do with recruiting students to join the military.

Students do NOT incur a military service obligation by taking JROTC in high school.  Students from eight AISD high schools participate in one JROTC program. The Air Force Junior ROTC course is unique.  This course will offer your son/daughter the opportunity to become a positive role model and provide them the benefits of belonging to a group throughout the entire school year.  In addition, this course will offer your student the opportunity to be rewarded for his/her individual success in academics, physical fitness and leadership. The JROTC curriculum emphasizes the importance of values such as citizenship, self-esteem, self-respect, service to the community, self-discipline, and responsibility. Students may participate in JROTC as well as other athletic programs. Students actively involved in JROTC create impressive records of  accomplishment that benefit them when applying for college admissions and career opportunities.
