Nov. 11, 2015 - A kickoff meeting for the renovation project at Corey Academy was held at the school today. The AISD, architect and construction manager met to review the agenda, contacts, procedures and plans. They will continue to meet weekly throughout the duration of the project.

Corey Academy, housed in the Corey Elementary building, is one of two fine arts and dual language academies opened in the AISD this school year. The renovation project will add state-of-the-art fine arts spaces like strings rooms, piano practice rooms, drama space and dance studios, all funded by the 2014 Bond package.

Construction will begin soon and be completed in four phases, hitting different parts of the building at different times. It is being managed by Pogue Construction following plans designed by Stantec.

“It’s going to be pretty when it’s done,” said James Gray, the site superintendent for Pogue Construction. “I’m excitied.

Substantial completion of the project is planned for the fall of 2016.
