Heifer joins goats in the new AISD Ag Center

A heifer moves into the new Ag Center

Oct. 27, 2017 - The first heifer to move into the new AISD Agricultural Center arrived yesterday evening. She joins a number of goats - the first occupants in the new facility - who moved in earlier this week. The building will host its first classes for students next week.

The districtwide Agricultural Science Center, under construction since the spring, will provide a state-of-the-art facility for agriculture education and house agriculture science projects, including heifers, sheep, goats and rabbits. The 23,000 square-foot, net-zero facility will include:

  • 54 flexible-fencing pens for goats and sheep
  • 14 heifer pens
  • rabbit pens
  • animal exercise area
  • metal construction lab
  • 2 classrooms
