Future Career and Technical Center goes vertical

CTC - steel going up

Sept. 29, 2016 – Approval was given on Sept. 16 for the future Career and Technical Center to “go vertical,” and now structural steel and masonry is going up.

Scheduled to open next school year, the districtwide, bond-funded school will serve students from all AISD high schools, offering career courses in state-of-the-art facilities.

Construction has been underway for months, but now it is starting to look like a real building. Numerous tasks are underway, including structural concrete, masonry, steel erection, electrical and plumbing.

“Everyone is very busy,” said Balfour Beatty Construction Project Superintendent Dan Covington.
