Addition at Boles Junior High opens

Hallway in new Boles addition

Aug. 28, 2017 - After months of construction, the new classroom addition at Boles Junior High, along with renovated areas inside the existing building, opened for the first day of school.

The classroom addition was built to make space in the existing building for a new special education suite. The 9,200 square-foot addition includes a new computer lab, CMT office, art room with kiln and storage rooms, and three new CTHEI classrooms.

Within the existing building, renovations provided a new special education suite that includes four classrooms, mock apartment (ADL Room), motor lab, ISPD classroom, PAES/Prevoc room, and ABLE room with a nearby conference room. Several other classrooms and restrooms, along with a teacher’s lounge and the nurse’s office, were also renovated.

While this bond-funded project at Boles is concluding, additional projects – life-cycle and deficiency upgrades – will be done later in phase four of the bond program.
