Construction of the first bond project at Kooken - adding a security vestibule and remodeling the front office - is substantially complete.
For the second bond project - lifecycle and deficiency upgrades - Imperial Construction was approved by the AISD Board at the Aug. 16 board meeting to serve as construction manager, and construction is scheduled to begin soon.
Bond-funded work at Kooken is being done in two stages. The first stage includes adding a security vestibule and remodeling the front office. The second stage includes a number of life-cycle and deficiency upgrades.

- Improve existing site accessibility
- Repair roof
- Replace parking
- Make structural repairs
- Improve site drainage
- Repair/replace and upgrade heating and A/C, electrical, interior finishes, plumbing and site lighting
