Today, we had metal checks at all 3 main entrances. I appreciate everyone's cooperation while we navigated the morning. Metal checks are unannounced so I will not send communication beforehand.
I want to thank all of you - parents, students, and staff - for your support this morning. It was amazing to have so many people reach out to us with positivity and encouragement when kids were having to wait in line without notice. At a time when we expected complaints, we were hit with thanks and gratitude. Thank you for being kind to my staff. What an awesome community we have here at Arlington High.
Starting Monday: Main, New B, and E Hall entrances will still be open during passing periods, but Main and New B will close after the bell rings each period. All students who are late to campus will need to enter through the E Hall Entrance. This includes students who are late getting to campus throughout the day as well.
We have had an eventful start to the year, but the staff here at AHS is extremely well trained and we only get better with each event. I want you to rest assured that I will do everything I can to keep this school safe. Your students are my students.
