I am excited to be the P-TECH counselor in the home of the Vikings at Lamar High school! I started my career as a reading teacher in Desoto ISD and began counseling at Nichols Junior High in 2012. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and spent five years in the Army as a military policeman. I completed two tours in Iraq and was also deployed to Egypt and Qatar. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, spending time with friends, family and reading an occasional book.
Lamar’s P-TECH will focus on the area of business and cybersecurity. These pathways will have your student exceptionally prepared to enter high demand, well paid jobs right out of high school, or continue their studies at the university level. With P-TECH, students get a traditional high school experience while taking advantage of earning up 60 college credit hours, an associate degree and earning industry certificates at no cost to the student or their family.
