The Counseling Program at Nichols JH

The Arlington ISD Counseling Program is built upon the National Model outlined by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). All curriculum and activities reflect these high standards. The four components of a Comprehensive, Developmental School Guidance and Counseling Program are:
1. Guidance curriculum- Provides guidance content in a systematic way to all students.

Programs Exclusive to Nichols:

Career Café - Career Café is an opportunity for students to learn about careers from individuals in their community. Students can learn about various careers during their lunch period, without missing instruction.

College Spotlight – Each month students participate in a scavenger hunt to learn about colleges and universities. They have opportunities to receive free college memorabilia such as t-shirts, pennants, cups, ect. It is part of our plan to make sure that all our kids are "Career and College Ready" before they graduate from high school.

S.W.A.G. Sisters with Aspiring Goals - our on campus girl group which inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Girls are mentored, where they find a sisterhood of support with shared drive, mutual respect, and high expectations.
