Help me welcome our new second grade bilingual teacher!

Hi everyone! I’m Ms. Villalba, and I’m from Valencia, Spain. I recently moved to the United States, and I’m so excited to begin this new chapter of my life. I believe every new beginning is an opportunity to embrace a new culture, grow through new experiences, and appreciate the beauty of life with an open heart.
Teaching has always been my passion, and I feel incredibly grateful to do what I love. I also love singing, and above all, learning. I truly believe we never stop learning, and that every person we meet has something to teach us. I hope to share that joy of learning with my students and inspire them to be curious, kind, confident, and excited about discovering the world around them.

I can’t wait to build a classroom where every child feels valued, encouraged, and loved. Here’s to a year full of learning, laughter, creativity, and unforgettable memories!

Hello Anderson Elementary,

I am excited to join Anderson Elementary as a first-year teacher in the 3rd–6th grade ABLE class. After one experience in a Birdville ISD Special Education Life Skills classroom, I knew special education was where I wanted to teach. My passion for supporting diverse learners began early in my life. As the mother of three precious daughters, I experienced different learning journeys firsthand. My oldest was advanced and entered the gifted and talented program, while my younger two faced specific learning challenges. Those experiences shaped my deep commitment to helping students build new skills and grow in confidence.

A little about me: I am retired from American Airlines, where I developed a love for travel. I also have the privilege of teaching once a week at a women’s halfway house. I enjoy hosting theme parties, including an annual Christmas family costume party, with extra points for homemade costumes. I look forward to beginning this new teaching adventure in the upcoming school year and cannot wait to meet the team and students.

Hi everyone, my name

Hello, Gators! My name is Ms. Alvarez, and I am very excited to join the Anderson family this year as the librarian. I have been an educator for 13 years, eight of those in bilingual classrooms and the last five in the library. I truly believe that the perfect book for even the most reluctant reader is out there, they just need to find it— and I’m here to help with that! When I’m not in the library, I enjoy hiking, sewing, doing puzzles, and of course, reading a good book! ... See MoreSee Less

Help us welcome our new instructional coach, Mrs. Adger-Barton!

Hello, Anderson Gators!

I am excited to become a part of the Anderson family! I bring 20 years of experience in education, including 14 years serving in Arlington ISD. My passion is supporting learning and growth for both students and the educators I have the privilege of collaborating with. I believe in leveraging a variety of instructional approaches while recognizing and building on each educator's unique strengths to help us achieve our shared goals. This year, I look forward to getting to know my new Anderson family, building meaningful relationships, and encouraging everyone to become the best version of themselves.

A little late, but we couldn’t let the summer pass without celebrating one very special Gator one more time. 💙🐊

After years of caring for our students and staff, Nurse Liz retired in May. We are so grateful for the love, care, and memories she leaves behind at Anderson.

Happy retirement, Nurse Liz! Once a Gator, always a Gator. 💙

Help us welcome our new Special Education Inclusion teacher.

I’m so excited to be joining the Anderson team this year as a Special Education Inclusion teacher! This is my 10th year in special education, and I truly love helping students learn, grow, and reach their potential. Before moving into SPED, I taught elementary general education for several years.

My husband and I moved to Arlington from Arkansas a little over a year ago, and we’re loving being in Texas. We have five amazing grown children who are spread out across the country, so any chance we get to visit them is a bonus!

Outside of school, I love reading, traveling, and just about anything sports-related. I’m an avid SEC sports fan, and thanks to this year’s World Cup, I’ve officially become a soccer fan too! I may not know all the rules yet, but I was completely invested and cheering right along with everyone else. My husband and I love watching sports together, so there’s almost always a game on at our house.

I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and having a fantastic school year!
