Today was an AMAZING day for me as a Principal of such a fabulous school and community of young scholars at Morton Elementary School! Good afternoon Mustang Families!
We wanted to take a moment to recognize some of our Mustangs who worked hard and practiced for many different events, who competed on Saturday, April 18, in the UIL A+ Academic Competition at Adams Elementary. We had twenty-six students in grades 2 - 6 who competed in academic contests such as Oral Reading, where students read a selection to the judges, or Dictionary Skills, where students use the dictionary to answer a variety of questions. On the attached pictures you will see the names of our students as well as the ones who earned a medal in one of the categories for their grade level.
We'd also like to recognize the teachers and our Assistant Principal, who gave their time and expertise to help by coaching these students. Thank you to Mrs. Arsiaga, Mrs. Garcia, Mrs. Genis, Ms. Lee, Mrs. Lewis, Ms. Morrison, and Mr. Rizy, as well as our fabulous GT Teacher Mrs. Riley for her hard work in helping make the UIL competition happen, by organizing our teachers and helping the other campuses put it together. ...
