All morning Pre-K children must arrive prior to 8:05 a.m. as classes start at that time.

Afternoon Pre-K begins at 12:20 and students are expected to be in class at that time. PreK students arriving after their assigned start time should enter the building through the front office to receive a tardy pass. For the safety of all of our students, Pre-K students arriving tardy will NOT be admitted through the Pre-K door.

K – 6th grade students are tardy after 8:20. Students arriving after 8:20 must report to the office to obtain a tardy pass so they may be admitted to class. Students arriving to school after 10:15 a.m. will be counted as absent for the entire school day. If your child has a professional appointment, (i.e. dentist, doctor) you will need to send a note from that office regarding the appointment so the tardy/absence can be coded as “excused”. Whenever possible please schedule professional appointments before or after school hours. Three unexcused tardies within the same six weeks count as one unexcused absence.

An administrator will open the front door to students at 7:50 a.m. At their discretion, Administrators may open the building prior to 7:50 during inclement weather situations. To ensure your child’s safety, please do not allow them to arrive to school prior to 7:50 a.m., as they will be unsupervised until this time.

For the safety of your child, please make daily dismissal arrangements clear to him/her.

We dismiss promptly at 3:20 p.m. If an unforeseen emergency arises and you cannot pick up your child at 3:20, contact the school as soon as possible. Be sure the enrollment card information is current, should we need to contact you or assigned emergency contact persons at any given time. Children are not dismissed to anyone except those persons indicated on the enrollment card.

Visitors are welcomed at Bryant! AISD has increased school security by installing controlled access through audio/visual equipment. Visitors will push a button at the front door and speak with the clerk to obtain entrance. 6 If you are on campus to have lunch with your child or for a meeting with an administrator or teacher, you must sign in at the front office via the Raptor System and obtain a visitor’s badge upon arrival. Please be aware that our Raptor security system does require that you produce a valid form of Identification such as a driver’s license or state ID card before you are admitted beyond the front office. In order to provide the safest environment for our children, all volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application and be approved through the Community Programs department. Volunteer Applications will be done on-line. A link can be found on the main AISD and the Bryant websites.

Menus listing food choices and prices are sent home with students on a monthly basis. Each student has a meal account with his/her own PIN set up in the cafeteria. Cash or check may be deposited in that account as needed. Parents can also make a deposit to a student lunch account through the PAMS (Parent Account Management System) lunchroom. This is done on-line at: www. pamlunchroom.com. There is a fee to utilize this service. Children may bring their lunch from home and purchase milk at school, if desired. Students are requested to bring non-carbonated drinks for consumption at school, as well as no glass bottles or containers. Applications for free and reduced lunch are available in the office. Each class has an assigned lunch time of 30 minutes. In an effort for lunch times to be a pleasant experience for everyone, students are expected to follow the posted cafeteria rules and to maintain appropriate conduct at all times. For the safety of our students, our cafeteria utilizes a noise-monitoring “talk traffic-light” to maintain an appropriate noise level for effective communication. Consequences will be assigned to students not following the cafeteria conduct rules. Consequences may include the student being removed from their peers to a separate desk/table for a period of time, and/or a discipline signing on the student’s communicator/planner. Parents are welcome to join their own child for breakfast or lunch at one of our designated family tables at the rear of the cafeteria. Please remember that Texas regulations state you may only bring food and eat with your own child.

Foods of Minimal Nutrition & Invitation Policy

In an effort to maximize the instructional day and to comply with state and federal regulations, students are not allowed to bring birthday/celebration treats for disbursement at school. Additionally, please note that party invitations may not be disbursed at school.
