Please join us in congratulating the Barnett Bears Academic UIL team for achieving the highest overall score and taking home 1st place. We appreciate the efforts of all participating junior highs and are particularly proud of our Bears who were part of this competition.

We would also like to express our appreciation to our teachers and staff who supported hosting this event on our campus and all of the teachers and volunteers who supported the other campuses. This is an event that truly necessitates a collective effort.

We’re up this morn

Behind every campus is a team doing the work that most people never see.

This week, I want to recognize and celebrate the leaders who help carry Barnett every single day. Please join in by giving a huge thanks to our Assistant Principals, Ms. Ward and Ms. Davis, and our Dean, Ms. Morrison.

They are in the hallways, in classrooms, in tough conversations, and in the small moments that matter most with kids. They problem-solve, support our staff, hold the line when it matters, and step in wherever needed.

The work is demanding, fast-paced, and often behind the scenes, but it is always rooted in doing what is right for our students.

If you get a chance, thank them for all they do for our students and our community. ❤️

Barnett Families,

This week, our 8th-grade students will take their STAAR assessments:

Science / Biology EOC – Tuesday
Social Studies – Wednesday

To ensure a secure testing environment, the campus will be closed to visitors on testing days.

8th-grade students may wear pajamas on testing days for comfort; however, blankets and stuffed animals are not permitted.

We will also continue conducting tardy sweeps throughout the day. Students identified in a tardy sweep will be assigned detention. Being on time is critical, especially during testing, as missed time is missed instruction.

Please help your student be prepared by ensuring they get rest, eat breakfast, and arrive on time.
