Sam Houston Welcomes New Assistant Principal
Sam Houston proudly welcomes Ms. Sara Clardy as our new assistant principal. She joins the AISD from the Fort Worth ISD. Ms. Clardy has held several teaching and administrative positions in Texas and Virginia. She is also a trained facilitator for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In her free time, she volunteers with her church and with the Boy Scouts of America.
Ms. Clardy will be the administrator in charge of both science and ELL.
Ms. Clardy will be in the office next to the elevator and will be responsible for the alpha PEO-SO grades 9-11.
el Mariachi Tejano de Sam Houston Qualifies for Battle of the Bands Competition.
Sam Houston's mariachi band has once again qualified for the SchoolJam Texas Battle of the Bands Semi-Final. Please vote for the band to become one of the top six qualifying bands to compete live in Austin in February. You can vote beginning November 21st. by visiting www.schooljamtexas.com. Sam Houston High currently is the only Mariachi band in the finalists. PLEASE VOTE! Voters are allowed to vote once a day until January 31, 2009, and we at Sam Houston appreciate your support!
Bowling Team Performs Well Against Arlington High
The Sam Houston Bowling Team competed on November 22 against Arlington High. Sam won 4 out of 5 of their individual matches and 4 out of 4 of their team matches with a cumulative point score of 16 to 1 for the win. Way to go Sam Houston!
Step Team Competes at UTA
The Sophisticated Ladies of Sam Houston competed November 22 at UTA and placed 3rd of the eight competing teams. The next competition for the Step Team will be December 6, 2008 at Saginaw High School, at 4:00pm.
