Let’s welcome one of our familiar faces officially into our Wildcat family!🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Hi! My name is Mykayla Orsak. I grew up in Arlington, where I met my husband, Robert, in high school. We’ve been together ever since! We have 2 kiddos who attend Wood. In my free time, I enjoy crafting and playing softball. I’ve spent the last two years as a substitute, mostly at Wood. I quickly fell in love with working at the school and with the students. I am so grateful for this opportunity that came my way, and I’m excited to join the Kindergarten team as a teacher assistant!

It’s a Terrific Tuesday, and our Special Education team is growing. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

My name is Allyson Cotton. I went to Prairie View A&M University, where I received a Bachelors in Social Work. I am currently getting my teaching certification! I have roughly 2 years of experience working with children. I am a mom to a rambunctious little girl. I have a huge passion for helping children overcome challenges, and I am very excited to be a teaching assistant at Wood this upcoming school year!

Hi everyone! I'm Whitney DeMent, and I'm excited to be one of the Special Education teachers at Wood this year! I've been teaching since 2014, mostly in special education. I’m married and have three children—two adult kids in their 20s and a 14-year-old—and I also have a brand new grandson who’s less than 2 months old! In my free time, I love reading books, playing video games, and watching TV or movies. A fun fact about me is that I’ve worked at Wood before, but it was when I was a teaching assistant. I’m happy to be back now as a teacher. I’m really looking forward to joining the Wildcat family and can't wait to meet my students and their families.

Good evening, families! It’s time to meet our new testing facilitator, Mr. Carrier.

I grew up in AISD, going to Morton, Workman, and Sam Houston and then received my degree from UTA. I have taught 5th and 6th grade and have also been an Interventionist the last few years. I have been happily married for over 25 years and have 2 adult children and a grandson who recently turned 1! It's a new position but the same passion, and I really look forward to joining and helping the Wood community!

Hello! My name is Alysia Kelley, and I’m excited to be a part of the Wood community. I bring a passion for education, a love for learning, and a commitment to helping every student reach their full potential. I have 25 years of experience in education and have taught many grades and subjects during my career. I hold a Bachelor's degree from UTA and a Master’s degree from WGU, and I continue to pursue professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning. I believe in creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family(my husband, daughter and twin boys), baking, reading, or putting together puzzles. I look forward to a great school year filled with growth, collaboration, and success!
