🎃📚 REMINDER: Foster’s Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest is coming up! 📚🎃
It’s almost time for our Foster Falcons to bring their favorite book characters to life! Decorate a pumpkin to look like a book character using paint and other materials, and bring it to the library October 26–28.
🏆 When students submit their pumpkins, they’ll fill out a card choosing which contest categories they’d like to enter. They can select more than one category, and EVERY pumpkin will automatically be considered for Best Pumpkin! Check out the attached image to see the categories.
🗳️ Voting: Thursday, October 29
🏡 Pumpkin pickup: Friday, October 30. All pumpkins must go home that day. Any pumpkins left at school will be thrown away!
🚨 NO CARVED PUMPKINS ALLOWED! Pumpkins must be decorated on the outside using paint or other materials. Please do not cut, hollow out, or carve them.

🎉❤️💚 Celebrating Hispanic Heritage at Foster!
Last Thursday, Foster families and community members came together for an amazing Hispanic Heritage Program! Our Strings students, choir, and 2nd graders (with a special dance!) shared their talents and helped make the evening unforgettable. 🎻🎶💃
The celebration continued in the gym, where guests admired student artwork inspired by Hispanic Heritage Month and enjoyed delicious foods. It was a wonderful evening filled with culture, creativity, connection, and Falcon pride! 💙💚
A HUGE thank-you to our Enrichment Team for all the hard work, planning, and heart they poured into making this event such a success, and to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Our Foster community is something special! 🥰

¡El jueves pasado, las familias y los miembros de nuestra comunidad se reunieron para disfrutar de un maravilloso Programa de la Herencia Hispana en Foster! ♻️📚 Mrs. Lunsford has had a busy week in the library! Our 3rd–6th grade Foster Falcons learned how to make their own paper using just a few simple, inexpensive ingredients. Meanwhile, our PreK Falcons read the bilingual story Let’s Be Friends! ¡Seamos Amigos! and then put their creativity to work by turning recycled materials into little friends of their own! 💙💚
Who knew a little paper, a few recycled materials, and a whole lot of imagination could lead to so much learning? 🌎✨

Reynolds, students will get the chance to start with a single mark and see where their creativity takes them. Then, they’ll add a dot of their own to our Dot Gallery, creating a colorful collection of Foster creativity! 💙💚
And the fun doesn’t stop today! Students will have the opportunity to listen to the story and create their own dot throughout the rest of the week. We can’t wait to see how our Falcons make their mark! ✨
