Santa Claus, his elf, and the Arlington Sunrise Rotary had our students going crazy when they showed up with gifts for all of our students during our Holiday Sing Along. The roof was on fire!

What's a fun way to exercise? Dancing! Salsa at the Gardens gave our kinder and first grade students a lesson in dancing and a lesson in giving back to our community and to others by showing kindness. The students were then surprised with bags full of wonderful goodies for our students.

Sal, Margaret, Guy, Emmanuel, Kennya, Javier, Camila and the rest of the team at Salsa at the Gardens, thank you for giving back to our community! We appreciate your generosity.

We have two more days of school before the break and we want to encourage all of our Thornton Tigers to come to school. We are still learning and we have some fun activities that you do not want to miss. Here are photos from the last six weeks attendance celebrations thanks to the Arlington Sunrise Rotary. Our winners were Camila (PK), Leandro (Kg), Vivianna (1st) and Susana (6th). They each received a pretty cool shirt while the parents and teachers received a gift card for their efforts in encouraging good attendance. Who will our winners be for this six weeks? Who has perfect attendance for the entire first semester and joining us for a pizza celebration? Stay tuned for those results soon! There are other attendance incentives, so it's never too late to have good attendance! ... See MoreSee Less

Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday was wonderful! It was nice to see so many families come join us despite the rain.

We are thankful for everyone's help, including the cafeteria team, custodians, our staff members, parent volunteers, student ambassadors, APD Officer Valles, and Dr. Hill, Chief Operations Officer for AISD.

The Pre-K and Kinder

We recently received donations from Salsa at the Gardens and the Texas Rangers. Our first grade students received school supplies and the teachers received teacher supplies bags from Salsa at the Gardens. The Texas Rangers, through General Motors, donated caps, shirts, and other goodies that we will use as incentives for our students.

We appreciate our community partners!
