Today 4th graders started work on a text art project inspired by the book 'Change Sings', just in time for MLK Jr. Day. We read the book, learned about the poet Amanda Gorman, and talked about how the children's book is almost having a conversation with MLK's iconic speech. We talked about the words the kids connected with the most and began pieces of a word wall that will all be put together. Hoy, los alumnos de cuarto grado comenzaron un proyecto de arte con texto inspirado en el libro "Change Sings", justo a tiempo para el Día de Martin Luther King Jr. Leímos el libro, aprendimos sobre la poeta Amanda Gorman y hablamos sobre cómo el libro infantil parece dialogar con el icónico discurso de Martin Luther King. Our First Grade Literacy Night was full of learning, laughter, and hands-on fun! Students and families explored reading, letters, and the human body through engaging activities all while dressed as little doctors and nurses.
