Hey families! We have another staffing update for us! We are so glad to welcome Chantel White to the 6th grade team! We are adding a 4th section to our 6th grade team next year and are so excited about this addition! Chantel currently teaches in Fort Worth ISD as a 6th grade math teacher. See below what makes her shine! We are so excited for her to join our Hill community!
Hi there! I’m Ms. White, and I’m so happy to be here! I’m originally from Georgia and have been working with kids since high school—it’s truly my passion. Before stepping into the classroom, I was a nanny for over 10 years. Outside of school, I love singing, hanging out with my friends, leading my small group, and being on my church’s worship team. I’m all about building strong relationships and creating a space where everyone feels like family!
I’m beyond excited to be a Hill Highlander and join the awesome 6th grade team! I can’t wait to meet my students, build a fun and supportive classroom, and make this year one to remember. I’m looking forward to learning, laughing, and growing together all year long!
If you want to reach out to her before hand, her email is: chantel.white14@gmail.com
Celebrate Earth Day with Arlington ISD on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Dan Dipert Career + Technical Center. Enjoy free activities like face painting, arts and crafts, bat sanctuary info, bee presentations, free hot dogs, a quilt raffle, seedling giveaways and more.
We are adding a 4th section to our 2nd grade classes next year and we are so blessed to have JoAnn Saia come to us from Kooken Early Learning Center! See below what makes JoAnn so special.
From JoAnn: This is my third-year teaching with Arlington ISD. I substituted in all grades K-5th, while I finished my bachelor's degree and my teaching certification. (My bachelor's is a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a minor in church teaching- I was called to ministry but in the field and not directly serving in the church) I LOVE teaching. I have taught adults, teens and served in kids ministry for many years. When I substituted in a second-grade class, I knew I was called to inspire a love for learning at the Elementary level. I started my career with Arlington ISD at Kooken Early Childhood Center teaching PREK3 for the past three years. My goal is to gain experience in other grade levels to challenge myself and continually grow.
My educational philosophy is for my students to love learning, for the things that they learn to be meaningful and helpful both intellectually and practically. There is not one particular way of teaching, just like there are different types of learners. Learning must be lucid (expressed clearly, easy to understand), transformative (causing a marked change in someone) and ardent (enthusiastic or passionate). Learning evolves and teaching with upskilling (Involves learning new skills to improve performance) and reskilling (Involves learning new skills to adapt to a different role) will allow scholars to easily adapt (to change), be effective and successful as they grow.
I am most excited to share in the excellence I have read and heard about here at Hill Elementary. I did not grow up in Texas (was born here). I am an Army brat. Moved every two years and have traveled all over the world. I also enlisted in the Air Force as a Medical Technician and served a short term at Barksdale AFB-so I too am a Veteran. I am married to a wonderful man and have 4 adult children and 4 Grandchildren with one on the way! I love to read, travel and stay in shape!
I look forward to serving alongside my amazing colleagues at Hill Elementary, and getting to know each of you and your scholars. I especially want to thank you for trusting me to love, care and educate your scholars.

Hey guys! As our applicants get processed and hired, I will send you their information so we can celebrate our new additions to Hill!
This week we are introducing you to Harold Wilcox, our NEW PE Teacher Assistant! Our current PE Teacher Assistant, Johnna Manson, is transitioning in our 3rd Resource/Inclusion Teacher Assistant Role at Hill so we are not losing her, she is just moving over to where her passion lies! We are SO excited for Harold to join our Hill family! See below what makes him so special!
From Harold:
Hello Hill Elementary! My name is Harold Wilcox and I am a lighthearted person who enjoys teaching, inspiring, and mentoring our youth. Prior to coming to Hill, I served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, I was a NJROTC Instructor in Lewisville ISD, and I roamed around Arlington ISD as a substitute teacher. Now I am ready to settle in and serve at Hill Elementary.
During my free time I enjoy spending time and pouring into my family. We are very outgoing and like to do all types of activities, outings, traveling, and staycations together. I'm coming to Hill to serve as a PE Teacher assistant. What I'm most excited about is the opportunity to team up with Hill's teachers, faculty and staff to continue helping create a safe and encouraging environment where all students become life-long learners.
If you want to personally reach out and welcome Coach Wilcox you can email him at: hwilcox@aisd.net
