Vanessa Vasquez

My name is Vanessa Vasquez. Though I started at AHS in 2023, I actually began my journey at THE Arlington High School back in 1999 as a student!

For fun, I love to spend time with my family, eat, travel, read, shop, go on dates with my husband, Orlando, and do all the mom things with my two daughters, Victoria and Valentina.

I definitely could not do what I do without my tribe!

I graduated from UTA with both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees and majored in Math and Science as an undergraduate student, and Literacy as a graduate student.

I student taught in Arlington ISD in 2010 and have since taught 5th grade in Garland ISD, 4th , 7th and 8th grade in Mansfield ISD and made my way back home to AISD in 2021 working in the Department of World Languages as an instructional specialist.

A great deal of my work has been centered around ESL and Dual Language education as well as AVID and Restorative Practices. I have worked with both students and teachers from ranging from PreK through 12th. I love what I do and strive to be “the person that I needed when I was younger”.

It has been a wonderful journey, but nothing tops it off more than being back at AHS, where how truly sweet it is to be in Colt Country! Kick ‘em!
