Greetings from the AISD Agricultural Science Center and Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center (CTC)!  I am over-the-moon excited to be embarking on this journey with the students of Arlington ISD as they explore hands-on, innovative education in numerous areas.  While the Ag Science Center and the CTC are not housed in the same building, I serve as the counselor for both centers.

My career in education spans eighteen years with the first four being spent in Fort Worth ISD.  After making the move to Arlington ISD in 2003, I taught English and was both an English teacher and the Creativity Action and Service coordinator in the International Baccalaureate Programme at Sam Houston High School until 2013.  Most recently, I served as a counselor at James Bowie High School.  One of my great loves in education is the support of and involvement in student leadership organizations. Over the last eighteen years I have been fortunate enough to work with students in Key Club, Student Council, AVID and IB.  I am a firm believer that involvement in student leadership organizations provides students the opportunity to grow, challenge themselves and better develop their personal style of leadership.

I am a proud graduate of Texas Christian University (Go Frogs!).  One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is watch Horned Frog Athletics (either in person or on television).  While TCU is my number one team in collegiate sports, I am a pretty avid College Football fan.  I have my teams that I love (and some that I less than love) and am always willing to enter into a friendly conversation about who the better team is. Aside from college football, I love to spend time with friends and family and travel when the opportunity arises.  I love to laugh and am in my element when I can make others laugh (essentially laughing together....because let's face it.....no one wants to laugh alone!).

I look forward to getting to know the students at the Career and Technical Center and Agricultural Science Center. It is my hope that I can serve as a source of support and encouragement for all students as they explore new avenues and prepare for their future. Please stop by and say hello when you have a chance.  I love to meet new faces!
