On Tuesday, January 20, the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees voted to close Blanton Elementary at the end of this school year. This decision was not made lightly and reflects the Board’s commitment to ensuring that Arlington ISD campuses are thriving learning environments for all students in the district. Trustees did not make any decision on attendance boundaries, transportation, or special programming.
Attention Blanton families:
There will be a Principal Meet and Greet held on Today, February 26th at 6:00 PM here at Blanton Elementary.
This will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about your student’s new school for the 2026–2027 school year, as Blanton Elementary will be closing this year.
You will also find out which school your student will attend from the four schools the district has selected for our Blanton students.
We hope to see all our Blanton families there!

Good evening, Blanton families,
For the safety of our students and parents, we will change the morning arrival entrance tomorrow. The usual student drop-off area is still frozen and is not expected to melt by morning.
🚗 All parents who drop off students by car must use the FRONT ENTRANCE of the school.
I will be at the doors beginning at 7:00 AM to help students enter safely and keep traffic moving as smoothly as possible.
➡️ To help traffic flow, please do NOT get out of your car. Staff will assist students as needed.
We kindly ask for your patience during morning drop-off.
🚫 Please remember:
Do not park in front of the school — this area is needed for staff parking.
Do not park in the fire lane in front of the school.

Por la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y padres, cambiaremos la entrada de llegada por la mañana mañana. El área usual donde se dejan los estudiantes todavía está congelada y no se espera que se derrita para la mañana.
🚗 Todos los padres que dejan a sus estudiantes en carro deben usar la ENTRADA PRINCIPAL de la escuela.
Yo estaré en las puertas a partir de las 7:00 AM para ayudar a los estudiantes a entrar de manera segura y mantener el tráfico fluyendo lo mejor posible.

Due to anticipated weather conditions, Arlington ISD has canceled all afterschool activities for Friday, Jan. 23. All weekend activities have also been canceled or rescheduled.
⏩ Elementary afterschool childcare will operate today, with the following adjustments:
⏩Boys & Girls Club and Tarrant County Kids (TCK) will close at 5:00 p.m.
⏩YMCA afterschool care will operate normal hours
