Bronco Families,

We will have a rainy dismissal today with two possible dismissal plans.

If it is lightning, we will not walk students out to cars. Parents will need to park along a driveway curb or street curb and walk up to pick up their Bronco. Please DO NOT block the driveway.

If it is only raining, please remain in your vehicle and do not leave your car unattended. Butler Staff will walk all students out to their cars in the main driveway.

For families parking outside the school driveway or walking up, please go to your Broncos area listed below to pick up your child.

For all 1st-6th-grade car pickups, please use the lanes in the front drive and wait by the entrance closest to your child's door; a staff member will bring your children to you.

Reminder, and as normal, older siblings will go to the youngest sibling for dismissal.

-Kindergarten and Pre-K remain the same, please walk to pick up your child at the Pre-K or Kinder doors.

-1st and 2nd graders exit and wait under the awning at the main front entrance.

-3rd and 5th graders will wait inside the 5th grade area and exit the 5th grade door that faces the front drive upon parent arrival.

-4th and 6th graders will wait inside the 6th grade area and exit the 6th grade door that faces the front drive upon parent arrival.

Please also note, to ensure that staff can focus on a safe dismissal for ALL, we will not dismiss students from the office after 3:00.

Thank you in advance for your patience as we ensure all Broncos and staff are safely dismissed!

Bronco Families,

Thank you! Y’all were awesome at dismissal yesterday with the changes in traffic flow! Just a few more days, and we will return to normal.

4 Things to know as you head into Friday and the weekend:

1) Tomorrow is Crazy Hair and/or Hat Day! Our Broncos selected this as their reward for their incredible attendance!

2) Crazy on top, Navy on bottom! Rock out in your Navy shirts, shorts, and pants to support our Lamar Viking Football Team, who are headed back to the playoffs for the first time in 6 years!

3) PTA is hosting Fun Friday at Gibbins! Plan to stay a little longer tomorrow and enjoy some cookies from Tiff’s Treats.

4)Don’t forget to RSVP for Thanksgiving Lunch and to bring a donation with you!

Bronco Families,

Good news, our driveway and sidewalk are getting a little makeover! The pothole that’s been trying to swallow car tires is being repaired this week.

-With the work occurring on our main exit onto Rocky Canyon, our exit lanes will be reduced from three to one

-All traffic exiting the front driveway will use Margaret Drive
4th Grade dismissal will shift South so that all loading will be done before the main crosswalk.

-1st Grade will join 2nd Grade under the main awning and will load all students before the main crosswalk

-Cars in the main drive will merge from 4 to 1 lane after the main crosswalk

-Additional staff will be working on Margaret Drive and at the intersection with Rocky Canyon to assist with traffic flow

-The concrete sidewalk from the main entrance of the school to Rocky Canyon will be blocked, but walkers and bike riders will still have a safe passage by walking around the construction

-The staff parking lot remains closed to parents unless you have approval and signage from administration
Parents are also encouraged to park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk to pick up. Please make sure you are not blocking the driveways of any homes you park in front of.

Please allow for extra time for loading students, follow staff and safety patrol directions, and drive with patience and kindness as we keep everyone safe during arrival and dismissal.

We anticipate that the project will be completed by the middle of next week. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and flexibility, and for celebrating with us as we say goodbye to the famous pothole once and for all!

Thanks!
