Bronco Families,

We hope you were able to step outside and enjoy the cool weekend weather!

We have an exciting and busy week ahead, and we look forward to seeing you on campus several times this week.

Starting tomorrow, we kick off our Scholastic Book Fair! You can get a head start by adding funds to your Bronco’s eWallet. Students will be able to access the Book Fair throughout the week, as well as at two special events following our PTA meeting and during lunch with their Grandparent or Special Someone on Friday.

We are in need of volunteers to help us have a successful Book Fair. Please consider volunteering a couple of hours this week.

Tomorrow night is our first Butler Dad’s Club meeting at 7:00 PM in our cafe. We invite all Dads and Father figures to come learn more about BDC and how they can partner with Butler.

On Thursday, we will have our first PTA meeting starting at 6:00 PM in our cafe. Following the PTA Meeting, we will open the Book Fair until 7:00 PM.

We close out the week with our annual Grandparents and Special Someone Lunch. Please RSVP any Grandparent or Special Someone who will be attending. We also have a modified lunch schedule for this special day, the RSVP and lunch schedule can be found in our latest Bronco Bulletin.

Bronco Families,

Following Dr. Smith’s message last week, I wanted to take a moment to talk about what the state’s accountability ratings mean for our school.

This year, Butler Elementary received an “A” under the state accountability system. We are extremely proud of this achievement and believe it reflects our campus and community's values and commitment to Excellence for ALL!

We could not have reached this level of success without an incredible group of dedicated teachers, families that partner and trust us with their children, and a group of highly motivated students.

Our journey continues this year as we look to continue to build upon our success. Specifically, we are focused on increasing student academic conversations, student goal setting, and providing each student with the tools and skills they need to make a year’s growth.

As mentioned in the letter last week, Arlington ISD participated in the STAAR rescore process, and the preliminary data shows many of our students improved. These students’ writing questions were graded by an automated scoring system, our request for rescore would require the tests to be scored by humans. While TEA did not process those in time, we’ve appealed to make sure that growth is counted.

We’re seeing momentum, and we’re building on it. Thank you for your partnership and belief in Butler!

Sincerely,
