Ginger Polster Principal ext.79500

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the principal for Arlington ISD’s Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center.  I am a product of Career and Technical Education.  It was the experiences and opportunities I had in my CTE courses and student leadership organizations that provided the foundation for my future and successes.

As the principal of the Career Center, I am dedicated to creating a school-wide culture where students identify, select, and pursue career pathways and develop necessary skills that lead to post-secondary career and/or college readiness and opportunities.  Myself along with faculty and staff are committed to cultivating the potential in our students by integrating rigorous classroom instruction with relevant, work-based experiences that inspire, guide, and empower them for post-secondary college and careers.  The Career and Technical Center will develop relationships with business, industry, and community leaders who will provide guidance and support to maintain rigorous coursework that is meaningful and responds to the needs of our community.

Our Career and Technical Center will bridge the academic, employability, and technical skills that prepare our students for leadership roles in the working world.   By combining careful planning with “real-world” experiences students will be prepared to take the next step in life after graduating from Arlington ISD.   Our students will excel!

I received my Bachelor and Master degree from Tarleton State University in Agricultural Education.   Prior to serving as principal for the Career and Technical Center, I served as a CTE classroom teacher for 11 years, an assistant principal for three years, and a CTE specialist and coordinator for six years.  All but one of these years has been with Arlington ISD.   My interests away from school include spending time with my family, boating on Lake Whitney, and gardening.

I am extremely excited about the opportunity to be an Assistant Principal at the AISD Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center. I have been in education for 19 years, spending 16 of those years in the AISD as a World History/ PE/ and AVID teacher. During those 16 years, I coached multiple sports. I have been an Assistant Principal for the last three years at Ousley Junior High. I am looking forward to working with the faculty and students at the Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center. We have developed a vision that will cultivate a business/college culture and provide our students with very unique learning experiences. As an Assistant Principal, my responsibility is to ensure a safe learning environment so that the career/college culture will flourish. I was also a Sergeant in the ARMY National Guard and served in IRAQ and Hurricane Katrina/ Rita. I feel this experience gave me leadership skills that will assist in my role as Assistant Principal. I love what I do because I also get to work with young people and help direct them to their future. I enjoy working with teachers who share my passion of helping students grow. At the CTC/ASC, there is no doubt that passion exists. I received my Bachelor Degree in 1998 at Northeast Louisiana University and my Masters Degree in 2015 from University of Texas at Arlington. I was a World History teacher and coach at Caldwell High School, Lee Junior High, and Velma Jackson High school for my first four years in education. I then moved to Arlington in 2004, where I taught PE and coached at Barnett Junior High. From 2010 to 2016, I taught PE, AVID, and coached at James Bowie High School. We became an AVID National Demonstration School while was AVID coordinator at…

I am extremely excited about the opportunity to be the assistant principal at the new AISD Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center.   I have been in education for 20 years, spending 17 of those years in the AISD as a biology teacher, coach, and assistant principal.  All of these experiences have helped get me to this point and I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the opening of this amazing facility. I am looking forward to working with the faculty and students at the Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center.  We have developed a vision that will cultivate a business/college culture and provide our students with very unique learning experiences.  As the assistant principal, one of my major responsibilities will be developing and maintaining this business/college culture.  I have had the fortune of not only being in education for 20 years, but I also own two of my own private businesses.  I believe I can use my business experience to help students understand what it takes to be successful in the business world as well as help them develop the necessary skills to be successful.  I love what I do because I also get to work with teachers on a daily basis observing the way they teach and exploring new and innovative ways to improve the art of teaching.  I know the faculty and staff at the Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center will be dedicated to developing rigorous classroom experiences for our students that will prepare them their future either in college or the workforce. I received my Bachelor Degree in 1991 and my first Masters Degree in 1993 from Texas Wesleyan University.  I received my second Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2014. I am happy to be here at the new Career & Technical Center!  What an exciting time for Arlington ISD and for the students who will come here.  I’m looking forward to seeing the students learn and grow, in both knowledge and experiences.  There are so many opportunities which students can explore for their future job. While I have only been with AISD for two years, I have 2 children who are recent graduates of the AISD school system.  I have a corporate background prior to joining AISD, in the human resources and accounting fields.  I look forward to seeing all the planning for both this building and programs come together.
