As the Advanced Academics Coordinator, I work with students and teachers in our advanced, AP, and IB courses. I am part of a passionate team who encourage kids to challenge themselves by taking advanced courses. I have the honor of helping support teachers and students in their work.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping students and parents understand the different advanced pathways we offer. I am also here as a resource for students who are struggling with advanced courses, including working on vital skills such as time management, resilience, and self-care. Please reach out with any questions you may have.

My teaching career began in Arlington High’s amazing English Department in 2000. In 2006 I was on the team that brought the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to AHS. I taught IB English and senior English until 2011, when I left to attend graduate school. I studied education policy and earned a master’s degree in urban affairs from UTA. The opportunity arose for me to return to Colt Country in January of 2015, and I have been the advanced academics coordinator ever since.
