Pre-AP English II and IB English IV Teacher

My name is Kristi Carden and I have been teaching at Arlington High School since 2010. I am a native of Arlington and graduated from Martin High School. While in high school, I discovered my passion for teaching when I joined the Ready, Set, Teach! program taught by Carla Parks. This program helped me find the joy in educating others and inspired me to pursue a career in education.

After high school, I joined the Mean Green and earned two Bachelor's degrees (one in English and one in Spanish) from the University of North Texas in Denton. In 2015, I received my Master's in Education from the University of Texas at Arlington.

I am honored to be teaching at Arlington High School. I truly believe this is the best school in the state! To me, education is not just about teaching grammar and research but helping my students realize their potential and giving them the confidence to achieve their dreams. As a teacher, I feel like it is crucial to keep the lines of communication between myself, students, and parents open. I have very high expectations of my students, and I want all of them to feel motivated and comfortable in my classroom. So please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
