Board of Trustees Approve Staff Raises for the 2025-2026 School Year

Arlington ISD Board Approves Compensation Increases for All Employees

The Arlington ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a compensation plan for the 2025-2026 school year, representing an investment of $24.6 million in the district’s most valuable resource—its employees.

Since House Bill 2 limited state-funded raises to teachers with three or more years of experience, the Arlington Board of Trustees took action to fill this gap with locally funded pay increases. With this plan, all current Arlington ISD employees will receive a 3% pay increase, ensuring the district remains a leader in competitive compensation across North Texas.

Teachers 3-4 years experience: $2500. Teachers 5+ years experience: $5000. 3% - 7% increase.

The Board of Trustees made it a priority to provide raises to all employees.

  • Teachers with 3 -4 years of experience will receive an annual increase of $2,500
  • Teachers with 5 or more years of experience will receive an annual increase of $5,000

  • All other current employees, including teachers with 1-2 years of experience, will receive a 3% raise on their 25-26 pay grade midpoint.

For the first time in four years, Arlington ISD is increasing its monthly contribution to employee healthcare premiums—adding $33 a month to help offset rising insurance costs.  This brings the district's annual healthcare contribution to over $4,200 annually.

Why isn't there a universal raise for all employees this year?

House Bill 2 provided specific funding for teachers with three or more years of creditable service and some additional funding for other staff. AISD continues to maintain market competitive rates for all employees.

These positions are coded (087) in the PEIMS system. State funding for House Bill 2 and the teacher retention incentive is specifically for positions coded 087 in PEIMS and meets the state's definition of Classroom Teacher. Additional positions currently on the AISD Teacher pay scale include Librarian, Instructional Coach, IB Program Coordinator, Advanced Academics Coordinator, Music Instrument Repair Facilitator, and Post Secondary Facilitator. These positions will be moved to their own pay structure in the AISD Compensation Manual under "2025-2026".

What if I my position instructs students as part of its role and I do not qualify for the Teacher Retention Allotment?

Positions with some instructional responsibilities that are not coded as (087) in PEIMS and do not meet the state's definition of "Classroom Teacher" are not considered positions eligible for the Teacher Retention Allotment through House Bill 2.

What if I believe my position does provide instruction in a classroom setting for 4 or more average hours per day and it is not coded (087) as eligible for the teacher retention allotment?

The State has not provided full guidance on all of the parameters of the Teacher Retention Allotment. However, you may share these concerns with your respective principal or supervisor for feedback. You or your principal may contact hrcompensation@aisd.net as needed.

Are there any additional salary structure changes for positions unrelated to the teacher pay scales?

All other positions (including Counselors, Nurses, other campus and support staff etc.) will remain on the same pay scale as the previous year. Any pay raises approved by the Board of Trustees will be calculated on the midpoint of each salary range. Salary ranges are reviewed and adjusted to maintain competitive pay.
