🔥 SET UP FOR SUCCESS: DRESS CODE 👕👟
As we get ready to welcome our Firebirds back to Fitzgerald, let’s make sure everyone is Set Up for Success with a quick reminder about the AISD student dress code!
Here are a few important reminders:
👕 Tops
• Must cover the waist while standing
• No pajamas, sleepwear, or loungewear
• No offensive clothing, jewelry, or accessories
🩳 Bottoms
• Dresses, shorts, skirts, and skorts must be fingertip length or longer
• Slits in skirts, dresses, and skorts are measured from the top of the slit
• Pants must be worn at the waist—no sagging
🎒 Accessories
• Head coverings require prior campus administration approval
• No obscene or offensive jewelry
• No heavy chains or spiked jewelry
👟 Shoes
• House shoes and slippers are not permitted

Keeping our Firebirds safe is our top priority! ❤️💙 Thank you for helping us make dismissal a smooth and successful part of every school day.
Please help us keep all students safe by following our dismissal procedures:
🚘 If you need to get out of your car:
Please pull over to the left or right side of the drive-through lane and park before crossing the entryway. This helps keep traffic moving and prevents students from running across the driveway to reach their families.
📍 Dismissal Locations:
🐦 Pre-K: Dismisses from the Pre-K pod and classroom door
🐦 Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade & 6th Grade: Dismiss along the front drive-through
🐦 3rd Grade, 4th Grade & 5th Grade: Dismiss through the back parking lot and north drive
🪪 Important Safety Reminder:
Students may only be picked up by adults listed in the Contacts section of their electronic student record.
Set your family up for success now by checking your student’s contacts and adding anyone who may need to pick up your child in an emergency situation. We understand that traffic delays, emergencies, and unexpected situations happen — planning ahead helps us keep students safe while making sure they are released only to approved adults.

A safe and smooth arrival helps all of our Firebirds start their day ready to learn! ❤️💙
All Fitzgerald Firebirds will enter the building through the front doors each morning. Help us keep our students safe by following our arrival procedures and being mindful of others in the drop-off line.
🚗 If you need to get out of your car to help your young Firebird:

🚸 Please also remember to watch for and thank our amazing crossing guards who help our youngest learners safely cross the entryway each morning. Their support helps make arrival a success!

Our Firebirds are growing up fast and earning their wings! ❤️💙 As our students build confidence and independence, we are excited to celebrate Independence Day on the second day of school — Thursday, August 13.
On this day, students will practice an important step toward independence by:
✨ Walking themselves to class
✨ Entering the building without parent/guardian assistance.
Don’t worry — our Firebirds will have plenty of support! 🐦 Our campus staff and student leaders will be available throughout the morning to greet students, provide directions, and help anyone who needs assistance.

The first day of school is an exciting milestone for our Firebirds, and we want to make the morning arrival experience welcoming, smooth, and successful for all of our students and families! ❤️💙🐦
This year, Arlington ISD will have a standardized first-day welcome experience at all elementary schools to help create a consistent and welcoming start for every student and family across the district.
On the first day of school from 7:45–8:10 a.m., parents and guardians may enter the building without a Raptor visitor badge or Fast Pass.
Families are encouraged to:
✨ Walk directly with your child to their assigned classroom
✨ Take a brief moment to help your child transition
✨ Say goodbye and help your child start a successful day of learning
Our campus team will be ready to greet families, provide directions, answer questions, and help everyone feel welcomed on this special day! 🔥
A few reminders:
📌 This special first-day arrival procedure is only available on the first day of school.
📌 Visitors should remain in classroom hallways and designated student areas.
📌 Please keep classroom conversations brief so teachers can begin instruction on time.
