First Day C Bell Schedule and Advisory Info.Attention Students: ALL students will be issued a current schedule on the first day of school. Seniors will pick up schedules in Gym A, Freshman will pick up schedules in the 700 & 800 halls, Juniors will pick up schedules in the 500 & 600 halls, and Sophomores will pick up schedules in the 300 & 400 halls. You must promptly report to 1st period at 8:02 so please pick up your new schedule quickly.
Former IB Coordinator, Mrs. Christine Phenix, was honored by Principal Sneed and the Bowie Faculty for her hard work and dedication to the IB Programme. The IB Center was renamed the Phenix Center in her honor. Ms. Phenix is retiring this year.

Congratulations to Mrs. Nanci Tyler who has taught in the Arlington Independent School District for 30 years and is still going strong. Mrs. Tyler was presented with several gifts by Mr. Darrell Sneed, Principal for her long years of service. Mrs. Tyler is a social studies teacher and also served as the social studies department chair for many years. She started her teaching career at Lamar High School, then Carter Junior High and finally Bowie High School. Mrs. Tyler is an inspiration to all of us in the teaching profession.
Bowie faculty and staff participated in the Cardboard Boat Regatta and finished 2nd place in the Dolphin Class with the fastest time! Participants included Todd Watkins, Susan Bicknell, Sherry Chaney, Keith Johnson, and Steve Hoffner. To view more of the photos, click here.
The Jan Thomas Library Dedication: The Bowie Family is proud to dedicate the library to Ms. Jan Thomas, Bowie librarian. Ms. Thomas has been with AISD for 37 years and opened the Bowie library in 1991. She is a dedicated librarian, teacher, and friend. Ms. Thomas will be retiring in June to travel and enjoy her family and friends.

R. Bailey, 12, was awarded the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship. Mr. Bailey, an IB student, plans to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia and study computer and electrical engineering with a minor in international business. The Bowie Family is very proud of Mr. Bailey's success at school and being the first Bowie recipient of this scholarship.Special
recognition goes to Tin Tran, class of 04 for his creativity in designing
the Bowie header and splash page.
