Information
The AISD Art department seeks many opportunities to collaborate with the community it serves. The Fourth of July Art contest is one of the ways in which the students, faculty, and the administrative team is able to join hands with the City of Arlington and support the arts while contributing to the community.
This contest is a marvelous opportunity to highlight AISD student artists' talent. Additionally, it is an excellent instructional unit in which to teach social studies, graphic arts/lettering, theme/idea relationship, and design.
To recognize the winning designs on July 4th, the city honors the artists and their families with a breakfast at City Hall and provides reserved seating in the V.I.P. section for parade viewing.
