Don't understand what "Twitter" is...go to www.tweeternet.com to learn more. It's simply a way to receive short text messages about what your friends are doing...in this case - what is Martin High School doing?

Go to www.twitter.com and sign up for a free account. Twitter is much more fun on your cell phone! In settings be sure to click the "Device" tab and enter your cell phone number. Search for martinhigh and choose to "follow us". Be sure to "turn devices on" so that you will receive a text message each time a "tweet" is sent out.

Martin Idol 2010

Congrats to the Martin Idol winner of 2010, Channing C. Alex C. was the 2nd runner up and Mitch G. was the 3rd runner up. Congrats to all the contestants the competition this year was amazing.

College Prep 2010 Advanced Placement Exams

Registration to take Advanced Placement exams will be held Feb. 1 - 19, 2010.

AP Exams are scheduled May 3 - May 14, 2010.

Students who plan to take AP exams will register through their high school counseling offices. No later than February 19, home-schooled students who wish to register for an AP exam should contact the counseling office of the AISD high school the student would attend if enrolled in AISD.

knowlege guidesSAT Success Workshop

Martin High School: Classes meet from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesdays: May 11th, 18th, and 25th to prepare for the June 5th SAT: this program teaches test - taking strategies, key math and vocabulary concepts which will give students a better idea of what to expect on the test. Students will use The Official Sat Study guide from the College Board and will be given pre and post test practice versions of SAT. Feedback will be available both to the student and parents.

Special Opportunity for Juniors, class of 2011, $10,000 Scholarship Opportunity

Who: Juniors interested in the pursuit of life goals that include volunteer and/ or public service, leadership opportunities and community affairs. Must have a minimum 3.0 gpa.

What: After successfully completing a year of internship and mentoring during 2 class periods, selected students will be eligible for a $10,000 scholarship($2500 per year).

How: Application and Interview process. Criteria for selection:

  • Current Junior with minimum 3.0 gpa
  • Leadership/extracurricular involvement
  • Interest and commitment to active participation in program
