Arlington ISD Honored with Financial Reporting Award

The Arlington ISD was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School Business Officials International.

The award, for the fiscal year 2019, goes to districts that have met the program’s standards for financial reporting and transparency. Moreover, by participating in the program, school districts demonstrate their commitment to financial transparency. Similarly, participating districts submit their comprehensive annual financial report, which is reviewed by a team of financial professionals who provide feedback to improve future documents.

In addition, a district’s participation in the COE program can facilitate bonding rating and continuing bond disclosure processes.

“The Arlington ISD strongly believes in the importance of proper financial reporting,” said Arlington ISD chief financial officer Cindy Powell. “It’s important that we are transparent with our stakeholders and community. We’re honored to receive this award.”

Arlington ISD is committed to growing whole and well-rounded young adults who are prepared to excel in college, career and beyond. The district’s mission is that every one of its more than 57,000 students will graduate exceptionally prepared for college, career and citizenship. With top educators, an outstanding core curriculum, a growing number of specialized programs and state-of-the-art facilities, the opportunities for all students from pre-K through high school are endless.
