4th annual Pre-K Palooza

Taking the first step in your child’s education journey isn’t always easy.

That’s why Arlington ISD’s early childhood department is here to make it an exciting and smooth adventure for you and your little one.

Thanks to the fourth annual Pre-K Palooza, the pre-K community came together to ring in registration for the 2024-25 school year.

“This is an opportunity for families to get all the information that they need to ensure a successful beginning of the year,” said early childhood director Jackeline Orsini.

Pre-K Palooza 2024With in-person registration assistance and resources from over 10 community partners, families did just that Tuesday at the event at Adams Elementary.

“It’s amazing to see how excited families are knowing that they’re enrolling their kids in a school district that takes education seriously,” Orsini said. “Seeing the smiles of the kids and the joy of parents when they see that Arlington ISD is a place where you feel welcome is my favorite part.”

Feeling confident by building connections is what Pre-K Palooza is all about. Families had the opportunity to engage one-on-one with department leadership, teachers, school clerks, other Arlington ISD parents, students and even the pre-K mascot Sparky.

That’s made all the difference for first-year pre-K parent Skylar Sutton.

“Doing hands-on registration has been so helpful in getting a perspective beyond just being behind a computer,” she said. “Coming to Pre-K Palooza has been a wonderful opportunity to mix and intermingle with everybody. This is our first year registering for school. For the kids to see and experience the school vibe, it’s been awesome and we’re having so much fun.”

From free backpacks and school supplies for the first 30 who registered for school to free tickets to the North Texas Soccer Club for ALL families who registered, the event was also packed with perks!

Pre-K Palooza 2024“Seeing how much our teachers, staff and other volunteers care for our youth gets parents excited and a little less afraid of the transition,” said pre-K teacher Dana Cunningham.

To Cunningham, Pre-K Palooza tells a lot about the culture of pre-K in Arlington ISD.

“It’s encouraging, it’s inclusive, it’s diverse, it’s strong and it’s like a family,” she said. “I love getting to be a part of it.”

And remember, Arlington ISD offers FREE pre-K for all 3- and 4-year-olds! So, if you did not get the chance to attend Pre-K Palooza, you can reach out to the early education department or your home campus with any questions regarding registration. You can also register your child online here.
