Over 500 STEM kits for Pearcy STEM Academy
At Pearcy Elementary STEM Academy, students are ready to engineer their future!
Thanks to the generous efforts of the GarverGives Corporate Giving Program, professional engineers assembled over 500 STEM kits designed to inspire pre-K through sixth grade students at their annual summit held last week at the Loews Arlington Hotel.
The kits, packed with materials for building balloon-powered cars and Play-Doh bridges, offer Pearcy students a fun and engaging way to explore engineering concepts. Every student will receive a kit to take home during the school’s pep rally at the end of the month, taking STEM learning beyond the classroom.
“We’re so excited for this opportunity to give every single student a STEM kit,” said Pearcy principal Sarah Brooks. “Not only is it a great opportunity to practice necessary 21st-century skills but it also creates opportunities to bring the whole family into STEM.”
But Garver‘s support didn’t stop there. In addition to the STEM boxes, the company donated $5,000 to further support Pearcy’s STEM initiatives.
“We’re trying to invest in that pipeline of future engineers,” said GarverGives program leader Kate Cox. “We’re so thankful to get to do this and support STEM education around the country.”
Brooks felt the same way.
“This is such a unique experience for our students to have a connection from home to school with STEM,” Brooks said. “We’re so thankful to Garver for this opportunity.”
