Pre-K Curriculum in Arlington ISD
Arlington ISD’s comprehensive early childhood curriculum is based on the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines sequenced to follow child development and support pre-K teachers to prepare all children for success in kindergarten. The research-based curriculum integrates instruction across developmental domains (physical development, cognitive development, social and emotional development, and linguistic development) and early-learning disciplines.
Arlington ISD’s high-quality Pre-K instructional framework inspires curiosity, builds confidence and kindergarten readiness. The framework provides opportunities for meaningful learning experiences and play-based interactions for all students. Together, the curriculum and framework support personalized instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including English Language Learners and children with special needs.

Why PRE-K Matters.
According to a study published by Raise Your Hand Texas – an advocacy group for public education in Texas – children who attend any type of preschool program were more likely to be ready (54% ready) for kindergarten than children who had not attended preschool (38% ready). High-quality pre-K programs, the study said, can lead to significant and sustained gains for young children.
