This modified course is designed to provide both a foundation for future mathematical concepts, as well as, a remediation for basic skills which need further exploration. The focal points of Grade 7 mathematics are number and operations, proportionality, expressions, equations, and relationships; and measurement and data. An emphasis on the concrete to pictorial to abstract method of teaching is utilized in order to also teach problem solving skills. Access to this course is determined by the ARD committee and is based on a student’s IEP.
