Beginning with the spring 2023 STAAR administration, students who test online will interact with a variety of new technology enhanced question types in addition to traditional multiple-choice questions. TEA refers to these new question types as Technology Enhanced Items (TEIs).
In order to reach the Synergistic Culture level on the AISD Best Practices Rubric, teachers must design and facilitate “a variety of… formative assessments… using a variety of digital tools.” With that end in mind, this matrix will help you select the most appropriate digital formative assessment tool for specific purposes.
