As we move into April, we know this time of year can feel full for both students and families. The end of the year is around the corner, routines can feel a little heavier, and many of you are already thinking about what next school year will look like for your child. You can get a jump start on enrollment for the 26-27 school year by registering your child online here. Completing the enrollment forms early helps us plan student schedules, homeroom teacher assignments and gives us accurate information for hiring.

BOND 2026

Come learn about what’s in the 2026 Bond proposal

We have four community information meetings scheduled this month to let you know what’s included in the 2026 Bond proposal. You’re invited to any of the meetings to hear a short presentation and ask questions. We hope to see you there.
    • April 1 - Thornton Elementary - 6 p.m.
    • April 8 - Young Junior High - 6 p.m.
    • April 15 - Seguin High School - 6 p.m.
    • April 22 - Shackelford Junior High - 6 p.m. (English and Spanish sessions)

Bond election is May 2

Election day is May 2, but the last day to register to vote is tomorrow, April 2. Early voting is April 20-28, with the exception of Tuesday, April 21, as polls will be closed for San Jacinto day.

Transfer window open now

Transfer to Arlington ISD for the 2026-2027 school year

Arlington ISD’s special transfer window for the 2026-27 school year is now open. This is your chance to transfer to a different school or for someone outside of Arlington ISD to transfer in. Learn more and apply below.

Specialized programs application window opens April 20

Your child could be a part of one of the many specialized programs in Arlington ISD next school year! Applications will be accepted from April 20 through May 1 for limited openings at Pearcy STEM Academy, Crow Leadership Academy, Jones Academy of Fine Arts and Dual Language, the P-Tech at Bowie High School, Arlington College and Career High School, and more.

Graduations are June 1 and 2

Students start their engines at Grand Prix

Forty Arlington ISD high schoolers got the field trip of a lifetime last month with a visit to the Grand Prix. But they didn’t just go see race cars. They got a special back-scenes tour that highlighted the many career fields involved in putting on major sporting events.

Lamar High School culinary teacher Anyatta Ward was recently named the Dallas Cowboys Class Act Teacher for March, and then she got invited to share her students’ favorite recipe on WFAA!

Family Engagement Plan

All families want the best for their children and play a vital role in their education. Arlington ISD’s Family Engagement Plan, developed with district families, outlines how schools, families, and the community will collaborate to support student success.

Family Expo & Resource Fair is April 11

This exciting event will feature over 75 vendors providing valuable summer resources and opportunities to help students finish this school year strong and prepare for the next. Families will walk away with tools, ideas, and connections to support learning at home all summer long.
