Specialized Learning Services

The Specialized Learning Services (SLS) division of Academic Services includes the following departments: World Languages, State and Federal Programs, Special Education (including Section 504, Dyslexia, and Response to Intervention).

The primary focus of the specialized learning services division is to improve educational, behavioral and post-secondary outcomes for students with disabilities, and those who are culturally and linguistically diverse and economically disadvantaged. Departments lead and support the collaborative design, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of innovative instructional practices that supplement and support the district’s core content curriculum, instructional resources and professional learning, while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations focused on equity, access and inclusion.

The SLS division is committed to developing more collaborative relationships with our general education colleagues for a seamless, customer service oriented delivery of supports and services.
