Sam Houston High School’s annual Black History Program will be extra special this year. Teacher and activist Opal Lee, “the grandmother of Juneteenth” will be the event’s keynote speaker. Everyone is invited to the program on Feb. 16, from 6-8 p.m. in Sam Houston’s main auditorium. Tickets are just $3, and the proceeds go to the Black History Month Scholarship Fund. College scholarships are awarded to Sam Houston seniors who work with the Black History program.
