Drop Out Prevention

In alignment with The Texas Education Agency (TEA), Arlington ISD Drop Out Prevention (DOP) Specialist work with ISD personnel to identify, support, monitor, and connect with families to increase at-risk student retention to fulfill graduation requirements.

DOP Specialist focus on the efforts of individual academic planning through campus collaboration, social-emotional support, alternative educational opportunities, flexible instructional environments, and community resources.

• Identify - 4th and 5th year cohorts coded 98s (Withdrawn or No Shows). Work with campus personnel for first time 1st – 4th year enrolled students for support and resources identified as at-risk.
• Connect- conduct home visits and phone calls of identified students
• Enroll- support student enrollment into most appropriate learning environment.
