The Arlington Independent School District Virtual Learning Programs
The Arlington Independent School District is proud to introduce a premier suite of virtual learning options launching for the 2026–2027 school year. Authorized under Texas Senate Bill 569, these programs are designed to redefine flexibility, academic rigor, and personalization in modern education.
We understand that a traditionally scheduled school day doesn't fit every student’s goals, lifestyle, or schedule. That is why Arlington has built two distinct virtual pathways tailored to support early college seekers and flexibility-focused upperclassmen.
No matter which path you choose, you remain deeply connected to the Arlington community, resources, and premier traditions that make our district exceptional.
Virtual Early College Program through Arlington College and Career High School (ACCHS)
- Best For: Motivated incoming 9th graders who want to jumpstart their college education in a structured, highly interactive online environment.
- The Experience: Hosted through Arlington College and Career High School (ACCHS), this pathway features fully synchronous (live) instruction taught by ACCHS teachers. Students collaborate with their teacher and peers in real time. Students embark on a clear academic crosswalk designed to earn them a high school diploma alongside tuition-free college hours or an Associate Degree from Tarrant County College.
- Key Feature: The structure of a traditional school day combined with the innovation of a virtual classroom, complete with dedicated early college counselors and specialized support.
Flexible Virtual Program for Incoming Juniors and Seniors
- Best For: High school juniors and seniors who need ultimate schedule flexibility but still want a vibrant, traditional campus lifestyle.
- The Experience: This program blends asynchronous (self-paced) online learning in up to two virtual classes each semester with traditional, on-campus courses making up the rest of the student's schedule. Online instruction is powered by certified virtual teachers through Edmentum EdOptions Academy, focusing heavily on core junior- and senior-level requirements like English III, English IV, Government, Economics, and Precalculus.
- Key Feature: True balance. Students can complete coursework from anywhere and at their own pace, yet retain the ability to step onto their home campus for most courses including fine arts, athletics, CTE labs, pep rallies, and graduation ceremonies. Every hybrid student is backed by a face-to-face AISD Virtual Student Success Coach to guide progress and ensure accountability.
This application will become available closer to the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
Which Pathway is Right for Your Student?
The survey linked below includes thoughtful questions about your child’s learning habits, your family’s ability to support learning at home, and the conditions that contribute to success in a virtual setting. There are no right or wrong answers—your responses help you and us better understand your child’s needs and identify any supports that may be helpful. Please allow approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete the survey.
The Arlington Commitment: Support Behind Every Screen

- District-Issued Technology: High-quality, reliable learning devices are provided to qualifying students to ensure seamless access to online dashboards and digital classrooms.
