Applications are now being accepted for the Arlington ISD School Library Advisory Council until Sept. 7. Parents and district employees are welcome to apply.
The Arlington ISD School Library Advisory Council’s primary role is to provide the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees with recommendations on the selection of new school library materials and on decisions related to book challenges. Parents and district staff on the School Library Advisory Council will complete a one or two-year term. The committee will meet a minimum of three times per year and may meet more often, if necessary, in order to fulfill the duties as required by state law. Reading both books and book reviews, as well as providing feedback, are the most critical responsibilities required of selected members throughout the school year.
