Posted in on February 24, 2026

The Arlington ISD communications and marketing team earned top statewide recognition this week at the annual Texas School Public Relations Association conference, bringing home 12 Gold Star Awards and three Best in Category honors – the highest distinction awarded in each division.

The Gold Star Awards recognize excellence in school communications across Texas. Arlington ISD’s winning entries spanned multiple categories, including writing, flyers, advertisements, videos, and more.

Arlington ISD’s Best in Category honors were awarded for:

  • Handbook/Manual: Growing Learners at Every Level: The Professional Learning Plan

“This recognition affirms the intentional work our team is doing every day to connect with families and tell the real stories happening across Arlington ISD,” said Arlington ISD Chief Communications Officer Taina Northington. “Our work is bigger than awards. We are telling the story of public education at a time when it matters most.”

The recognition reflects a year of focused, strategic storytelling designed to inform, share the student experience, and inspire the Arlington ISD community. From in-depth features that spotlight student and staff achievements to carefully developed district publications and essential guides for families and employees, each piece is created with purpose and impact in mind.

“During the recent legislative session, our responsibility was to translate complex legislation into clear language and make sure our community understood how decisions in Austin impact classrooms in Arlington,” Northington said. “When we communicate with clarity and courage, we strengthen trust in our schools and in the future we are building for every student.”

These honors reinforce Arlington ISD’s commitment to clear, engaging, and meaningful communication that supports students, families, and staff. The communications and marketing team remains focused on telling the stories that define Arlington ISD and strengthen its connection with the community it serves.
